I got here from the forum ... https://rapidshare.com/files/1070714552/7024-C8lean_v0.41_v2.rar
already solved the problem, I downloaded the rom from the first page ...
other details now, I downloaded the rom updated A8 dropad however it worked just right and not even touch the buttons, q may have something to do to work??

Oh, thanks... I have only two more questions, just to make it clear: it is safe to install this rom in a non-bricked 7024? If yes, which is the best rom backup app to this task in your opinion?

Also, I know some people here that have the same doubts, I'd like to clarify this for them too... it would be of great help, sparing many people form asking this same issue in many boards out there.

let go

1, I still do not recommend because it is not a rom made for him, there are many adjustments to be made before porting to it.
I just did on my because I brik it.

2 I know of no backup software for it yet.

alozs, the newest custom C8lean firmware that can be used on our Kyros X024 is the one flxrms has mentioned (C8lean v0.41 v2). All the newer versions do not work as well since our hard-buttons don't have a working module for the newer version of Android (Gingerbread 2.3). So basically any custom rom for Haipad M7 or Dropad A8 that are based on Android 2.2 should work fairly well on our Kyros with minor changes. If we ever get a module for our hard-buttons compiled for Gingerbread then I think the newer versions of C8lean should become usable.

WARNING! if you haven't bricked your tablet, make sure you use tileg's utscript when installing a custom rom, or else you pretty much lose your camera's functionality and maybe more. You won't ever* get your camera working again even if you try reinstalling a custom rom with tileg's script afterwards. So you've been warned.

I got problem with my 8024 (i have posted here)... so anyone have the firmware or rom of kyros? ( that comes with it...) someone do this image from the kyros can post here?
I want try use that original before try this one's in this post...

The versions 2.2 froyo is all usable ? soft buttons, home button, wi-fi, camera, acelerometter? i see this post http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...ical/14147-tablet-turns-off-when-sleep-3.html this rom of video is all functions of kyros on? (the guy don't show the rotate of screen or acelerometter functionality )

PABLOCR actually created a nice FAQ page for the Kyros 7024 model its just not PINNED..i already included almost all the good stuff i learned from this thread in that FAQ page also. Most of the questions here can actually be answered just by reading back a few pages. Also H0t1Ce is correct if you update your ROM without using TILEG's UTSCRIPT you will lose your camera functionality even if you try the updated rom i shared or use tileg's script again.

Coby as far as i know will not provide any ROM for updates. If your still using your Stock firmware then just stick to it.

Gingerbread firmware provided by HAIPAD for M7/M7+ will not work 100% for Kyros 7024. You will lose the Volume Hardware buttonn and the Full 360degrees rotation.

But you will gain other functionality of gingerbread in expense of losing some. You just have to weight what you really need.

Any clues about why in some kyros 7024 with modded roms, camera works and in others not? Did coby used a differente hardware in the same model (i will not surprised, WORST SUPPORT EVER, a SCAM of support service). I have lost my camera since flashed the stock rom. Actually it was useless, but i have been trying a skype version that could work if the camera work.

All I can say is I seem to be one of the ones where after recovering from failure and following Bulldog and Tileg's posts in combination ... everything works. Market, Camera, Volume buttons, everything. I posted my results and how I got to this state in an early post in this thread.

But basically my Kyros was bricked after I attempted to flash ClockworkMod. I was dead in the water for a good 2-3 weeks. Then the microSD bootable firmware for the Haipad was posted and got me back up and working. Then I applied the button fix so all the 5 buttons on the tablet worked. Then I simply started testing everything out and it all just worked without any further tweaking.

To note... when I did open up my tablet... I noticed the chip under the hood was printed 7025 even though the box was printed 7024. So YES... Coby is definitely putting different hardware in the systems while printing on the box and manuals that it is different.

So that's my history thus far.

someone could upload a rom of the 0506 hipad around with the side buttons working?
I tried to do here c8lean 1.0 recognizes the buttons, but for now without success, it seems that the 0506 also has bluetooth hipad

grateful

Reading my 7024's dmesg dump, I seen an init parameter passed to the kernel telling it to initialize an GC0308 camera, and apparently it does initialize it...

Below are the parts os the dmesg that tells this information...

[ 0.000000] Kernel command line: ubi.mtd=4 root=ubi0:rootfs rootfstype=ubifs init=/init console=ttySAC0,115200 lcd=ut7gm camera=gc0308 mod=5 bltype=p
[ 0.000000] select_camera_name: str=gc0308

[...]

[ 0.904527] Linux video capture interface: v2.00
[ 0.907465] GC0308 1-0021: gc0308 has been probed
[ 0.907534] GC0308 1-0021: fetching platform data
[ 0.909690] GC0308 1-0021: parallel mode

So, as I haven't found any other clue on my dmesg who told me there's another kind of video capture hardware on my 7024, I am led to believe that the camera really is an GC0308 and that the problem may not be modules, but some config.

EDIT: Oh, and among the modules loaded on my 7024, there's not a module whose name seems related to the GC0308.

Tileg i think posted his dmesg a few post back

[ 0.000000] Kernel command line: ubi.mtd=4 root=ubi0:rootfs rootfstype=ubifs init=/init console=ttySAC0,115200 lcd=ut7gm camera=hi704 lun=2 umsvendor=coby umsproduct= mod=5 bltype=n

[ 0.000000] select_umsvendor: str=coby
[ 0.000000] select_umsproduct: str=
[ 0.000000] select_backlight_type: str=n

[ 0.899876] HI704 1-0030: fetching platform data
[ 0.901687] HI704 1-0030: parallel mode

I'm guessing that since you updated your rom with different UBOOT.BIN your camera was change to GC0308... mine is still HI704 same with tileg... googling both they have different manufacturer.

This must be the main reason why your camera is not working.

hmm .... I understand, then there is now an android rom 2.3 to work with the side buttons, slutty for the most important thing for me was to run to use the bluetooth gps, is there a virtual keyboard for instance in order to trigger the button menu at least ... hehehe

oh anyone know of a 2.2 rom that supports external bluetooth adapter??

anyone can tell me if the some firmware in this topic of android 2.2 froyo with all functions ? ( soft buttons, camera, accelerometer...) ?

Some guys with the 8024 get white screen... is in 2.3 or just 8024 can do that update?

I think the 8024 should have some component of different video and the "driver" of the film of 7024 does not work.

The "spillb" posted in another topic a screen shot made by ScreenCast.

Is running short so we need to change something in the "video driver".
