What is Cappy doing? Slow motion chewing? We should make this into a contest and see who can do the best kung-fu style voice over for the clip.

Yes, sucking on a Mentos. Filmed at 240 fps.

Here he is on the day I brought him home from the pig sanctuary.
No, I'm not Santa on a summer break.

Nope. Phreadrica lived in my house for 14 years and spent most of her time on her perch. She's climb down and go out the pig door to graze and evacuate then come back in and climb to her perch. She finally started spending more and more time outside and eventually decided to move out there. I was surprised that even after 14 years I'd never felt an emotional bond with her and wasn't really upset when she left.

If she was eating and a pig got near her they'd wait to see if she was going to move her tail. I never saw her slap a pig but they knew not to tempt her. If she didn't move her tail they would move her away from the food with their snout and eat her veggies.

She loved their body heat and pigs love to be scratched. When Schnoidz would see her headed for him his mohawk would go up and he'd flop over. She'd then climb on top of him and lay there enjoying his warmth. As I slowly got more pigs in the house she spent less time on the floor. Schnoidz has always been the most gentle.

Tom, I think you are more like San Fracesco d'Assisi, the saint who spoke to the animals! Do you have a shot of the iguana and Schnoltz? I didn' t know they could be sort of " friends". Great stories!Gloria

:cool:HOME-MADE MARSHMALLOWS! Yeah I know right.

I should not have back-read this thread. :bang-head-on-wall: :p

How much time do you spend photoshopping to make the food look that good? This is like a fast food commercial where half of it is plastic and twice as large as real portions right? And don't say no, cause that is going to be one 'spensive dinner if I gotta go all the way across the country to get it!

LS, we need some fresh food now that I am reminded of how good that looks.

No 'Shopping going on at all my friend. These are .jpeg right off the SD uploaded to Picasa unedited. Shot with a Nikon d40 55-200mm.

The food really looks that good(;)most of the time;)). We have beautiful food prepared by talented and dedicated people(sorry to gush but we have a stellar crew this year and that makes all the difference). But it is more a function of shooting with a huge zoom lens from 3-4 feet away. My camera does much the heavy lifting. I need a decent flash and then I'll be able to take really nice pictures. However, for the most part it's like a bicycle-riding, cancer-surviving, (probable) performance-enhancing drug taking, record-breaking, pop-star bedding and wedding, Tour de France Uber-Champion once said....

"It's not about the bike"
BTW

Did I tell you guys who I ran into at the coffee shop the other day?

I'll give you a hint...No...Two hints...

dang wished you can fedex some of those :)

Anima, while we do make and sell jars of our Thai Chili Glaze, Maple Raspberry Vinaigrette, and Bittersweet Chocolate Sauce, I don't think you would be very happy with the results of a 5 course meal via FedEx. :rolleyes:Tee Hee:rolleyes:.

Also to J5 about the cost; those are actual portion sizes, and our prices, by Island standards are a bit above average, but we try to focus on value for the most part. No one leaves our dining room hungry, or unhappy for that matter.:p

Since no one responded to my hints, also I ran into her again this morning, Meg Ryan and John Mellancamp are down on the Island for the summer. I saw them at the coffee shop (http://www.espressolove.com/mv/index.html)the other day with the whole family and ran into Meg again this morning. She is a very sweet woman and I have had the pleasure of preparing dinner for her a few times. She owns a house on Chappaquiddick a much smaller island that is adjacent to MV. Yes it is where a certain now deceased Senator may or may not have been responsible for the death of an aide while operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

:cool:I didn't get a chance to talk to John. But he looks like he could ruin your day with naught but a glance. I guess I expected a little more of the weathered Indiana farmer, not the road weary Indiana biker but hey JOHNNNY freakin' COUGAR was at MY COFFEE SHOP, with his girlfriend Meg Ryan.

I love this Island.
