[ROM] ViewCOMB 3.2 - Honeycomb 3.2 for ViewPad 10s

Good news from nVidia regarding ICS.

Hello Android Development Community

We appreciate all the interest and passion surrounding the NVIDIA Tegra Platform and we take our support for the development community seriously. NVIDIA has been working with Google and Motorola to provide the open source community with the required drivers and other binary code to build full Android OS images for the Tegra 2 powered "Motorola Xoom". We expect Google to make those components available as part of the Android Open Source Project soon.

In addition, NVIDIA is working on a full release of Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) for our Tegra 2 Dual Core and Tegra 3 Quad Core reference devices to be made available early next year. This release package will comprise of binary code, drivers developed on our reference platforms and any patches necessary to ensure stability & performance with ICS. We hope the open source community can leverage this release for their work on all Tegra devices.

excellent news, lets hope thier "reference platforms" include the tegra spec thats on the viewpad, but i will say this, viewcomb is about as good as it gets for me, my brother complimented it the other day "its as smooth as the ipad2, so smooth and responsive", he said while he browsed fb using opera, i then blew his nontechgeek brain loading up google maps.....lol

no, iv used vista, 7 and xp, and all install, you must be doing something wrong.

will this work on my superpad v10 1ghz arm a8, 512ram running 2.3

Probably not, as this ROM is built for the Viewsonic Viewpad 10s. And even though that tablet is sold under many different names (Advent Vega, POV Mobii Tegra and several more), the Superpad doesn't seem to be one of those. It appears to be based on the "Flytouch" series of tablets. That's just from quick googling though and might be wrong.. :)

Anyway, the answer to your question is still most probably "no".

Maybe there is a new Bug:
When starting the new version of Google maps is closes after initialisation and viewpad reboots^^

Yup, the new version of Google maps (v6.0.0) contains a bug which causes the reboot.
In Buld 6.3 is the last stable version of Google maps v5.12.00, don't update it to v.6.0.0!!!

hi, what is the screen resolution ?, im trying to run TOUCHDAW, which requires a 1024x600 screen, it just keeps loading up the phone version of the app, it should be loading the tablet version, has the dpi change somehow changed the resolution ?, i really want to have this app running properly, thanks, xd

It seems to be a problem for some machine to have 3G function being unable to work . Earlier days I tried to flashed back to the original ROM and then switch on the 3G. Copy down the configurations (default by my Viewpad 10s). With the 3G function still on operating status, I powered the Viewpad. Then, I flashed the Viewcomb 3.2 Build 6.3 again and configured the Mobile Network with the copied configurations. At first the 3G sign appeared but gone afterwards. The network was still not connected. On the next day, I tried again, the 3G sign still only appeared for few second. However, this time I could access to the network but slow response. All the way, the 3G sign has not shown up again.

Could Legionnaire advised?

Thanks a lot! I tried but the 3G just was not activate though my Viewpad 10s recognised existence of the SIM card and there already exists an APN. In the original ROM, I need to switch on the '3G/GPS' through Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks. Is it neceesary for the same after installation of the Viewcomb 3.2.

No, it should take a few minutes at most. I had the same kind of trouble on my first flashing attempts and it turned out to be a faulty or low-quality USB-cable. I went and bought a new one and with that it worked on the first try, no troubles at all. So you might want to try that. Apparently some older cables that are not certified for USB 2.0 can be problematic.
