Hi guys,
Just bougt my Viewpad 10s, and I really like it.
For those of you whom are wondering wether or
not to install it (because of the mentioned touch-screen
issues), build 6.1 works very good without touch
screen issues. The touch screen is even better on this
ROM then on the stock ROM.
Well... 6.1 has the same issues in my 10s Wifi.... not luck...
So I tested Viewcom v1 and worked without the screen issue...!!! ... Next logical step was an "incremental" update to know where the over-sensitive screen appears...
Every went fine until version 5.1... the over-sensitive (and almost unusable) screen appears in version 6...
@Legionnaire, I think this issue for our "wifi only" Viewpads is related to some kernel changes in that version 6...
What do you think ?
Can we (the "wifi only" owners) have a similar 6.3 version but with old kernel just to test ?
Or can you detect the component in the new kernel causing this over-sensitive screen?
I'm open to be your betatester in this issue... I'll be glad to help to find a solution for this "wifi only" Viewpads... contact me thru PM if you wish (hope so)...
Kind regards, mate...!!!
Javier.

friend, legionnaire is currently working on ICS for viewpads, [...]
friend, legionnaire is currently working on ICS for viewpads, i dont think he has the time to run down a kernel log, i would just stick to 5.1, until ICS viewpad 10s hits up on the forum, I think 6.3 is the last rom update for the viewcomb release, tegra are releasing in association with google, all source code for ICS, so implimention of ics will be easier, and a lot more smoother than porting honeycomb, you can wait for that release, or mod this rom for the wifi only model, I dont know the kernel, so you would have to try legionnairre for that, or modaco.com, if and when you find a solution, please share, so other 10s wifi only users can get access to the solution, many thanks.
also, may i point this out, new member BARTS, posted that 6.1 worked with his wifi only model, perfectly, "better than stock rom", so it may just be that your display is dodgy ?....your both 10s wifi owners, and report different things....edit the kernel to adjust to your own specific pad, cause from the sounds of it, he thinks 6.1 is just dandy !
I have updated my POV Mobii to version 6.3 of Legionnaire. It's awesome. Thank you for the method of update, very very easy.
It works very well but I also see some bugs:
- Impossible to update to last version of Google Maps (6.0.0.3) because makes reboot, so I uninstall the update
- Impossible to see some webpages, for example Vimeo, Video Sharing For You The browser closes itself.
use opera or dolphin browser apps mate, googles browser isnt very good
I tried on both (Googles browser and Dolphin HD) and it's the same on both, vimeo videos doesn't work.
My brother in law is very happy with his "new" tablet.
Will he modify the release for Advent Vega a second time to make it more compatible with our beloved ViewPad?
Just read here (Advent Vega kernel source code now available! - Android @ MoDaCo - Page 47) that they have released a first Alpha for Vega as a NVFlash-File there: VegaICS
