this did not work for me, i tried 2 versions of the gmail app, both didnt work, version 2.5.5 i think and an older one 2.1.2 i think.
the apps do the same thing, press icon it trys to load but crashes back to desktop.
any chance you can provide me with the correct gmail app or its version number so i can test it out. i dont think this will work unless i have a rooted device. im just running factory stock firmware.
some wifi users report 5.1 is better
Hi Mc,
I did a lot of installs and reinstall, with Vegacomb, Viewcomb, Moded Stock, and Viewcomb this days.
As you know, I had success with 5.1, even with Vegacomb 9n Update 3... but after new installations, even 5.1 and vegacomb failed with the touchscreen issue...!!!
I tested the "earthed" (via USB) theory, and the supposedly success sequence ("moded stock v2 --> vegacom 9n") Even with both thories combined, I had the screen sensitivity issue.
Now, after many tests and reinstalls, I'm using 6.3 fine.... only minor sensitivity issues (very low in the upper, very high in lower area, calibrate doesn't change anything) and Wifi problems after suspend (needs reboot sometimes).
The only conclusion I have until now, is: The problem dissapears randomly, but in few opportunities... Can't find the real method for success. But with 2.2 (stock or moded) every instalation is fine.
Something I noticed: When installed the Touch Panel Utility (original) the app says it can't find the driver for the panel, so I can conclude the driver in Viewcomb is not the original, or an upgrade, or identifiable as the right one by the app.
Hope this can point someone in the right direction.
Kind regards and Happy New Year !
Javier.
Quick question...has anyone made an actual USB cable for this tablet? I cannot even find a replacement USB for an Advent Vega and of course I cannot find one at a Big Box store anywhere...I do have a USB A/B cable that is M/M...Just didn't know if anyone had made their own cable or if I should just buy an A/A Male to Male cable on Ebay. It looks like an A/A male to male cable is wired pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin2, pin3 to pin3 and pin 4 to pin 4..so I guess I could rewire an extension cable...just want some advise I guess
