The actual dimension of the power connector to the ES666/777 pad is 2.5/0.7mm.

I emailed Erisin about the missing charger, and they apologized. They are sending me one free of charge, and offered me a discount on my next purchase.

Language barrier is sometimes frustrating, but IMO, they are (most of them) honest and have a sense of honor.

Its funny that my head unit came with a defective GPS module which Erisin blamed it on a defective GPS receiver and wanted to charge me US15 for shipping me another receiver, after I refused to pay it since it came defective and not my fault, they confirmed that they will send it free of charge and six weeks down the line to this day, I have not seen it...
So, good luck to anyone trying to argue with the Chinese.

Hi all

I can only speak from my personal experiance but like tdi-votex my dealings with them have been at times frustrating due to language which is as much my fault as theirs, they have allways treated me in a honourable fashion.
I hope they resolve your issue quickly, I would contact them again & mention this forum and the unwelcome publicity that could occour if its not sorted to your satisfaction.

Hi all,

After all the defects and back and forth emails with Erisin, I decided to gamble on another unit (thinking back, I think I must have hit my head back then...)
Received my new unit (ES778A), so far so good.

So here are some of my experiments:
1) installed a reverse camera and hooked it up to a wireless module so I don't need to worry about the video cable (both bought from eBay), automatically switches to camera when reverse gear is detected
2) re-enabled steering wheel control
3) re-enabled USB charging and audio streaming of my iPhone by splicing the provided iPhone cable to the OEM iPhone/ Aux input in the car
4) installed google voice search and google car home and both worked

Things that didnt work:
1) iPod control on the HU cannot be enabled after splicing to the OEM connector due to wiring limitations (no biggy, the Android is a capable media center + A2DP is always a viable option + the iPod control screen is horrible...)
2) The BT on the HU is not shared with the tablet? (anyone can confirm this or is it another defect on my side...?!)

Some things of noting:
1) iGo voice stutters on my unit irrespective of which voice I choose...
2) My tablet ram is only 390mb and not 512mb as advertised...

Anyone willing to share their experiences?

I have also had the Igo stutter & remember others earlier in the thread mentioning it (i cant remember if they found a cure) I use copilot instead which works fine. I dont have any i stuff so dont know anything about it, google voice search works for me too , i dont have steering wheel controls on my van, I have a reverse camera but haven't fitted yet, the bluetooth on my head unit is confined to the main unit & only uses the tablet as a control /display screen while in windows ce mode, this is by design as far as I know.
My tablet has 316mb available space, I think that means the rest of the 512mb is in use by the android operating system (but I'm no Android expert !)

Ciao Costa1977, se hai modificato il file framework.jar e la modifica non è andata a buon fine forse ti posso aiutare. ho fatto lo stesso e ne sono uscito rinominando il file che avevo creato di backup nella stessa cartella. c'è un po da lavorare da riga di comando ma ci si riesce.

Hello Costa1977, if you have modified the file framework.jar and the change is notsuccessful, perhaps I can help. I did the same and came out by renaming thebackup file I had created in the same folder. There is a bit of work from the command line but you can do it!

Hi all. I have been looking at this unit since the es666a. Like many I hesitated on buying one since performance issues was to slow. After seeing that they came with an updated one which was faster I couldn't wait any longer and got it. I'm in the USA, NJ and I have the unit installed on a 2004 Lincoln Navigator w/ backup cam and over head DVD which is also connected to the es777a via RCA cables. Everything works well besides my radio installer not know where the steering control wire goes. Now I'm a iPhone user as well as Mac user. And threw out the years I have done many jailbreaks as well as many mods and hack to the phone or pad. Now as of Android devices I have never messed with neither has any of my friends since they are all iOS freaks. Now I have seen YouTube videos on rooting gingerbread androi device but am afraid to do some I them even thow I have with z4root and got nothing. I also tried ginger break and nothing. So what I'm asking is I somebody can please point me to the right direction on how to root this device as I want to do many mods on it. I also have access to a pc laptop with windows 7 if it's needed. Sorry if this seems lame to you guys but I'm a newbie when it comes to android devices. Thanks in advance I also know how to install apk files from the web.

Hi Junjdm,

Z4ROOT works with the es666, I used superoneclick to root my ES777 pad, its a windows based prog, you run the prog on the pc while connected to the pad if i remember right.

I'm not sure but ever since I rooTed the pad cant download any apk over the browser. Anybody had the same problem? It would say "Untitled unsuccessful download" . What I'm looking for is ultimate rotate apk. I had one but after the root it updated itself. So now it won't auto rotate upon boot. I have to manually go to a application and rotate it .
