Trying to Identify Kernel, Possible Overclocking Possibilities for DM7022 Radio

HELP!! My es77a tablet 2.3 os keeps freezing up after booting up (about three minutes). I have to hit the reset button on the back to re-boot it and it will repeat the process, and freeze up in about 3 minutes. I have already tried the factory reset and it does not fix the problem. Does anyone know where I can get some very simple step by step instructions to fix this? Im not getting anywhere from erisin. Please help... I have a lot of money in this and it is not working properly..

Thanks in advance,
VK

Try booting without the micro-sd. Sometime faulty memory card can give problem.
If that fails, I would try flashing with the stock firmware.

I just bought the same thing and am kind of upset with it as well. The headunit mode when the droid is plugged in is basically non functioning (not that you would want to use it). I can only get bluetooth to connect in headunit mode for about a minute. I haven't found any roms that im certain are compatible.

Kind of upset is an understatement for me. I knew I was taking a risk ordering something so far away, but this item should be advertised as a "Prototype" with so many issues. I have had many and still do! The latest issue is very poor radio reception! I think they installed the wrong antenna adapter for my car -- arrrgh! And of course the house charger only works about 25% of the time when the cord is positioned just right.

I have been in contact with the manufacturer (erisin), and they want me to send the tablet back. It took me 30 days to receive it along with $65 shipping one way (USD). I just paid $275 (USD) to have installed - I have nearly $800 invested in something Im about to throw in the trash. I really dont want to spend another $130 in shipping and wait 60 more days.

Thanks for some of the suggestions -- So far, I have tried all, and none have worked. For now, I think I will install my factory radio back in my Jeep, set this on my work bench, and come back to it another day --

Update -- Erisin will charge ME all expenses, and I have only owned this for about 2 weeks now!

Hi Vankemp,

I'm sorry to hear of your problems, It would appear that you & Steve are getting a rough ride in all this, 30 days delivery is beyond belief & the fitting costs you have incurred are pretty steep :-(
The only crumb of comfort I can offer is many of us here have also had our share of problems but have managed to work our way through them with the help & support of others here. Myself I had made a similar post to you in the past, then i made my way through the problems over a period of weeks was so happy to have finally got every thing working right, i took the pad in to show my wife how wonderfull it was & dropped the bloody pad & smashed it ! I was as sick as a pig & truly gutted. I then had to wait for a replacement , thankfully it only took about 10 days, i cant understand why you had to wait 30 days ( could it be customs ? )
Anyway in the end I got a great product that i'm happy with, so stick with it mate it should be worth it in the end.

BTW
marylin175's posts have all been removed from all threads, it would appear to have been BS, I cant think of any other reason for all posts made by the member to have been removed.

Dont let it all get you down mate, I'm sure you will get there in the end.

Hey Mark --

Thanks for the reply. As it turns out, things have gotton slightly better for me today. No, I did not make any headway with the tablet.. But right after I wrote my rant here, I was headed to an electronics store (Best Buy) to look at new radios. On my way out of town I decided to stop at my local Chrysler dealer to see if he had a clip I needed to put my factory radio back into my Jeep -- (It was a clip that holds the antenna in place) and he informed me that it was a "radio" only part and someting he could not order. I said thanks anyway and started to walk out when he said "hey wait, let me look at something". He went in the back and brought out a radio to identfy the part -- I said yes! that is what I need. He handed me the whole stereo and said it should fit. I was confused because he was handing me the whole stereo, and he repeated.. "it will fit, go ahead and try it" I said WOW... this is the stereo I have been looking for... He said if it fits, he will sell it to me for $125.00 -- I do not even know this guy in the parts department -- he handed me a NEW in the box mygig RER actual fit. This thing has retails new at dealership for $1850.00 and ebays for around $1100 and he let me walk out the door with it for free and said if it works out, stop by tomorrow for $125 TRUE STORY!! Can you believe this?? So anyways -- ALL problems solved! I have my tunes back and wow-- It sounds sooo good! I should point out that he said he had a warranty claim that they thought was a stereo issue -- and it wasnt the stereo, and that is why they had this around (im sure it was paid for through warranty -- so I was at the right place at the right time)

Just as I said before -- I set the tablet and frustrations that it brought aside for another day. I will revisit it when Im ready to install it somewhere elses. I have another car or motorhome I can put it in. So im sure to be around for lots of questions. For now Im going to keep my excitement over my new toy -- Bluetooth, 20gb Built in hd, got my satelite radio back, dvd, nav, back up cam, and on and on...

Again .. Thanks for your input..

Hi all,

I want to find out if there are any fellow members that has the same issue and did this resolve it?

They sent me the replacement panel for mine. Havent changed it yet as the unit mostly works with the bent pin. As sson as it has more issues I will get change it. Doesnt look too hard to do as it has a detachable ribbon.

I understand this is a tablet site, but I have an issue with the ES777A headunit and wonder if anyone else has seen it. I received and installed the unit a few days ago and it worked perfectly for 1 day. On day 2 the lights on the headunit were out, to include the lcd screen (not the tablet's but the simple one on the radio unit). The only lights that still worked were the lower 7 on the lip that sticks out and holds the tablet (power, pad, vol -, vol +, etc). I could faintly see the lcd screen was still working, but it was very faint. I messed with the buttons to try to see if anything would work and the lights came back on. I don't know which button or combination caused the thing to work, or if it was a freak accident. A day later, once again the panel lights were off except for the bottom row. Again the lcd screen is very faint, I have to shine a flashlight at it to see that it still works. No button or combination of buttons seems to correct the problem now. Everything works on the unit other than those lights - all the buttons on the head unit perform their advertised functions, but I just can't see on the screen what they're doing. When the tablet is connected all things work as advertised and I can control the unit using the tablet's interface. Android mode works fine.

Has anyone had a similar experience? The tablet is installed correctly as far as I can tell and the fact that it worked fine for the first day confirms this to me. There is no fuse on my car dedicated just to the radio illumination. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Spitfireap,

I checked my unit & it should work like this,
When powered the buttons on the unit & the display are very dimly lit with a white light
When powered & car head lights are switched on , the same buttons are lit with a orange or blue brighter light.

Have you tried messing around with the illumination wire ? such as connecting it to the key live ? prob wont cure but may give you a usable work around !

Good luck mate,

Mark

I haven't been around or looked here for a while.

What does the new firmware do? Also is there a download pack for those updated icons?
