did you swap out the files to get your home button and soft buttons working?

I knew I was missing something. I only have 3 buttons working (Browser, Menu, Home) but not those functions. So Home is actually "Go back". So So I will have to redo with the files. The only ones I remember reading about where the 2 that either had a logo or didn't. So I will give it another go to get the buttons working.

UPDATE - I put the button fix in and reflashed the whole thing again. All is working. So much so that all the buttons work including the Volume Buttons.

Also an added bonus ... and I made no other alterations ... my camera works fine. So I have everything back and working on this custom ROM.

So I am as happy as happy can be. Now I am back in business monitoring and administering my Battlefield 2, Killing Floor, Day Of Defeat, Left 4 Dead 2, and Team Fortress 2 servers as well as my TeamSpeak 3 server. Theses servers were one of the main reasons I wanted a tablet.

So thanks to all!!

Well I didn't get it working myself. I didn't change or mod anything. Basically I just followed these posts closely. The only thing I can think of that other may not be doing... my system was totally bricked so in opening the Coby physically... I formatted the internal microSD card to FAT32. Other than that I followed the below steps using only the files and methods mentioned in this thread.

My install steps:
01.) Downloaded the "Haipad M7 322 rootable" ROM since it was the one listed as having the working volume buttons.
02.) Downloaded the "utscript_wo_uboot_and_logo"
03.) Downloaded the "utv210_root.tgz" file for the Home button fix.
04.) Extracted the "Haipad M7 322 rootable" on my PC to a folder.
05.) Replaced the utscript with the one in step 2 (renaming the file to utscript)
06.) Replaced the utv210_root.tgz from step 3
07.) Formatted my microSD card to FAT32
08.) Copy the (now-altered) contents of the folder to the root of the microSD card
09.) Put the microSD card in the external slot of the Coby
10.) Powered on the Coby holding the Power and Home buttons.

That was it. The Recovery process was automated after that. I watched as it formatted and partitioned the system and then copied all the files over. After that, it turned off. I powered on the Coby and everything worked. Camera, volume buttons, home buttons, everything.

The only quirk I have is that I see 2 Volume icons in the notification bar that don't seem to be related to the volume at all. Changing the volume works fine for notification and media. Those icons are just kinda stuck there.

For the camera, I just used the stock application that came with this Haipad ROM. I didn't do or change anything. I just ran it, saw myself, took a couple pictures for testing and it all worked.

Maybe starting completely from scratch like I did will work. Again... the only other thing I can think of beyond the above steps was me formatting that internal microSD. Maybe if you don't format it, something camera related is staying on the card when you install a new ROM so the camera is misbehaving due to original code.

For the disclaimer ... mine just worked. So if you do that and something goes wrong, I have no experience on a fix since mine didn't die. All I could offer is to keep trying a recovery and using newer fixes as they come along.

it would be nice if we could get someone that has the knowhow. to make these roms better suited for our coby's. they are already set with gingerbread. just need the tweeks.

tried ur method zenstang but still came up with the same problem.. everything working soft buttons home etc but camera still comes up green not sure why.... hopefully someone can figure out why this is happening

Yeah. After mine was back up and running I ran the native camera app and then ran Socialcam. Both worked without altering anything.

To note...when I opened the Coby, I noticed MID7025 on the motherboard and not MID7024. My device was sold as the 7024. Maybe there is a hardware difference between our devices.

Hi everybody. I have been following this topic for about a month, waiting for the miracle gingerbread rom for our cobys. If i didnt understand wrong the only thing that requires work is the camera. For those who already have installed GB, does google talk with voice works? I an very interested in that to make the change, are there many fc for commons apps or it run smoothly? I am just afraid that with the new rom i would not be able to use apps that now works with the original firmware as i red theres is no known way back to the stock one. Thanks in advance and for your hard work.

I will try Google talk with voice and let you know.

So far I have had no FCs on any apps. Some apks have to be manually installed as they don't show up in the Android market. Like Netflix and Amazon app store. I saved them on my Evo and transferred to the Coby and installed. So far they all work.

Thanks Zentsang! I will give a try flashing tomorrow, since even if the camera wont work actually is useless it dont work with any app for videochat anyway right now in the stock rom. Would you mind to post the download links to the files "utscript_wo_uboot_and_logo" and "utv210_root.tgz" cause i didnt find it. Thanks again!

Yeah...there isn't an option for video or voice in Google Talk. It's just straight text chat.

But I think I'm an exception it seems as far as the camera working. Most haven't gotten it to work.

I'm with BULLDOGG on sticking with stock.
