@flxrms

Thanks for the ready rom, I've tried it already, and it worked without problem. But why it's still 2.2 version?

Now Im in a position to say that we have in our hands the biggest piece of cr*ap you can possibly buy. The coby, even with another rom, keeps spinning back the videos past 1 hour 11 minutes, and even worse, the h264 videos that before worked, now stutter as hell. Seems to me this is hardware related and no firmware update is gonna fix this mess.

I guess that's why they released the 7022. It has similar specs but not a lot of the same issues. Kind of sucks that coby would just release another tablet rather than fix the current model.

Thanks for the answer

As of right now, Im flashing this thing every firmware I find from other tablets that share the same hardware. I'd rather brick the damn thing and forget about it than have it not working as it should. If I find some magical firmware that fixes stuff, I'll let you know.

Thanks again.

Well, It hasn't been long. :)

I've just found a piece of firmware that solves most of my (Coby) problems. Is Gingerbread (2.3) for real and it does for me the following:

-Videos without stuttering and without losing formats (Coby still plays everything it played before, with other firmwares tested the coby loses the AVI support)
-Videos without the annoying down-picture blurriness that some resolutions had (A little "belt" on the lowest part of the picture, as if a broken glass was there...)
-Wifi works BETTER THAN EVER. Downloading speed has improved a lot for me.
-Market already there and working.
-Buttons (except the hardware volume) work. Home works as "back", the rest OK.
-Fastest UI. For real, you can feel a big difference in how the coby responds to anything.
-Battery info seems more accurate (At least I haven't seen any 32%->> 45% changes to this point)
-and finally Solved the 1 hour 11 minutes problem with seeking: All videos work fine at any point.

BAD NEWS:
-No camera, no volume hardware buttons.
-The browser closes itself if you go straight to google.com (Weird thing). If you go someplace else it works (Dolphin HD behaves the same)
-Power stuff: the way you wake up the coby from sleep it's pressing the power on for a couple of seconds. And in standby the lights on the hardware buttons remain lit.

UPDATE: Seems that the lit buttons only happen if you turn wifi off before sleep (I always do) and also the 2 second power back on. If you power off the tablet with the wifi on, everything is ok: No lit buttons, power back on with a single touch of the power. As always did.

-The G-Sensor: With a couple of games tested so far, I'd say there are no differences with the compatibility list I've made, meaning, the g-sensor hasn't changed his behaviour.

The firmware is the Haipad M7 2011/05/19 without modifying anything.

i think its not the hardware problem but more on the underlying software of froyo... I tried this with Gingerbread Haipad_M7_0506_android 2.3 and the video will not repeat if move past 1:10... I only encounter this at Froyo.

Kyros 7022 dont have this problem because its already using Gingerbread.

Now i also tested Gingerbread Haipad_M7_0506_android 2.3 only Volume hardware button not working and only 270degrees rotation....everything else works including Camera.

I now reverted back to Herotab_C8_CFW_Based_0402_Mod_Tuen because i find it better and my battery last longer...

BTW Haipad_M72_0402_rootable volume button is not working but Herotab_C8_CFW_Based_0402_Mod_Tuen volume hard button is working..the only thing different with 0402_Mod is button_ut7gm.ko....when i used the copy of 0402_Mod to Haipad_M72_0402_rootable volume button works.

Thanks there.

You're absolutely right, every tested Froyo rom has the video issues. The Gingerbread ones not.

Im gonna try the 0506, thanks for the tip. Downloading now

Don't care about volume buttons as long as gallery has the touch volume. I have found ones that have, and ones that doesn't. And the camera, good to have it.

Honestly, I don't miss the stock ROM for nothing, I preffer to not have one of these things (Buttons, Camera, whatever) and have a better media core that works.

Thanks.

UPDATE: Camera still doesn't work with 0506, black all the time. Thanks anyway.

Hmm that's weird because almost all ROM im using my camera is working...The only thing i always do is to change the default UTSCRIPT of the Custom ROM's with the one provided by Tileg. So my bootloader and logo is still Coby's. The only thing being updated and erase are the Kernel and FileSystem.

So, is there a stable ROM that we can use? I currently have kyros 1024 and would love to upgrade to gingerbread as I am having the same video problem mentioned. Is the 7024 ROM applicable to 1024?

I tried Haipad_M7_0506_android2.3 and M7+_2.3_20110519...the only thing missing for me is Volume Hardbutton and the full 360degrees rotation (only 270). I think its stable enough for me. But i modified it a little bit first so the Coby bootloader and Logo will not change..also added the s3c-button so i Home button work (if not it will function as Back button only).

Latest 607 is not working properly for me..

I can upload my modified 506 or 519 if anybody wants it.

ive been using a new rom based on 0322. download the 0.41 version. the newest versions wont work right on the coby. just do the usual changes to the ROM. cause its already rooted with superuser installed and with less bloat [ROM][WIP UPDATED 30/06] C8lean v0.9 [Cleaner/Smaller/Rooted] - SlateDroid.com

then i follow these instructions to speed up the tablet. dont have to use gingerbreak cause its already rooted V6_SuperCharger Unleash your X2 with V6_SuperCharger - xda-developers

get root explorer. and browse to init.smdkv210.rc hold down on it to open it in text editor. go to setprop au.ui.enable_volume_key true and change it to false. then REBOOT to get rid of those peski volume buttons in the notification bar.

then i changed the resolution to 162. its the onei think works best for me.by going to system/build.prop in root explorer.find #ro.sf.lcd_density=200 delete the # change the 200 to 162 then REBOOT. or to what ever that might work for you from here LCD Density Changes - SlateDroid.com

i also like to use Go Launcher EX with the diffrent themes. so much much better than the stock launcher.

you play with these settings at your own risk. follow these to a T and you shouldnt have a problems.

Hey BULLDOGG, I was thinking about going down the path you've taken. I'm still on stock right now. Can you comment on how certain things are working for you on that custom rom based on 0322?
-Camera
-Wifi
-Hardware buttons

camera does not work. everything else does. if your still on the stock rom. i would stay there.

in my case everything works including camera... the only thing different with bulldog is my bootloader and logo is still the original coby's. i'm using tilegs script so its not erasing the bootloader and logo.

i hope somebody can provided us a way to get the bootloader from the 7024 so we can test.

the only thing not really working in gingerbread rom 506 and 519 i tried is the volume hardbutton..everything else works including camera (provided you change utscript)

@bulldog
thanks for the tip about the supercharger.
