Unbrick or update Coby Kyros 7024 with gingerbread firmware...!!!!

i have not find any custom roms for the mid8024 yet. hopefully someone in the forms can post an image of the device so we can try it, other than that i have to way to fix that problem yet. sorry and i will keep trying

Since i was unable to reset my tablet using all reset method and hard boot option...Especially since darn Coby has not release a firmware for Coby 7024. i had tried a tons of different firmware that match the same exact chipset as coby Samsung S5PV210 (Cortex A8). but i was not determine to gave up just yet.:confused:

i am so happy that i even manage to put Andriod Gingerbread. Yes u read what i said correctly.:):D:eek:

All i did was formatted the "SDCARD" that is inside the Coby tablet.
* Note i am not refering to the External card but internal SDCArd***

Completely using a software named "SDFormatter" then i placed the new firmware from a different tablet Herotab_C8_0419_Gingerbread Rooted.zip which is Kernel version: 2.6.35.7
Android version: 2.3.1


******~~~~~Opps.. i forgot to add please extract the download file then copy all the everything that is in the extracted folder. and copy it to your memory sdcard INSIDE TABELT... SO SORRY i am only human..~~~~~****

And Using update button. by Pressing Power and silver circle center shiny button together
And waited for tablet to do a complete system wipe and update..then it will shut down.

After that boot the tablet like normal by pressing power and u wait a minute for it to process and you will have a working Android with new feature designs...Yes the soft keys are working as well. and wifi..:D:eek:;)

Hope i have been a great help to you guys that need help to unbrick your coby Kyros MID7024.......:cool::cool:

Try unbrick at your own risk.. Not recommending for update untill Hopefully Coby Release a firmware update..!!!

I tried to update my firmware and my coby went to a white screen, then it doesnt switch on again! Now it doesnt respont to button combinations and it doesnt respont to USB conections! what can be done now?
 
Ok, thanks wicced, in another forum (Brazilian), there are people with the same problem, even with the 1024 i wil continue follow the two forums to find a solution. My tabled is open, if you need some photo or specification of any component just say.
I do not consider my tablet bricket, it works, even the people with the same problem has tested a hdmi cable and can see te OS in the TV.

I posted earlier in this thread if u use the haipad m7 rootable firmware wit the modded boot script this is confirmed working on 8024. Everything is working

thats what happen to mine nothing respond anymore and i cant find anything online on how to fix this problem.... im guessing we would have to do a complete system wipe somehow but i dont know how
 
i have a dead 7024 too (bricked while truing to install a C8lean 1.2) now it only turns on light for a couple of secs and turns off.. i tried the revive your dead tablet with no luck :( .... any other ideas??
 
Hello everyone, not too sure if my work on the mid7024 will start back up mainly because im low on funds and because of the NO SUPPORT im getting from Coby i have decided not to give them anymore of my money (which i really dont have). I ran into a website that stated the HP Touchpad is now only $100 so im trying to get one. Will update you guys on my progress and sorry i cant continue working on the custom roms

I just blame Coby about this (via email) some days ago, and in fact, I'll not regret about that. Btw, I think we have some good news, let me show a mail that I exchange with Coby:

(After some flames, I'll not paste the entire mail thread, just the last ones)

Myself:
If you guys doesnt want to help people that PAY for something that doesnt work, at least hand over some SDK for professional android people like me trying to fix it.

Coby:
The firmware update will be available to download on our website within five business days.

Those are really good news!! lets hope that even if it doesnt revived all of our 7024 it helps you guys find a way to do it.

Wait, what? Seriously that coby will release an official update? It will be the gingerbred official update? And I wonder, may the update have a best performance than the wicced247 rom? (I doubt it, lol)

I don't have any idea if will be a gingerbread or a froyo, btw, at least we'll have something to start: an official build for 7024.
