Actually i have a modified C8lean v1.1 with Camera working with a coby logo too :). The trick is to edit the following files

set_bootargs, u-boot.bin, u-boot.arg, u-boot-sd.bin, INand_mm_sd_mbr.vhd

open them using a HEX Editor and search for CAMERA=GCC308, replace GCC308 to HI704 then SAVE.

..

If only i have an updated driver for the volume hardware button i will surely use it permanently...

Sweet about to test ur settings... I also figured out the rotation and location so Google Maps finds my location

Ok, now I have a doubt... for now it is safer to use the flxrms froyo ROM before putting the wicced247's gingerbread ROM? Why I mean, that in the wicced247's ROM the camera is still unfunctional, so if I use his ROM I will lost the camera function forever - like was said of some roms mentioned in some pages before - or this wicced247 gingerbread ROM does not have this problem that will 'crash' the camera?
If the gingerbread ROM has already get rid of the camera crash issue (assuming that the camera will not work FOR NOW, but it can be recovered later), I will first use her, or rather test the two roms.

...Not that I want thaat bad to use the camera, since we have cellphones with much better cameras than the kyros vga now, but for qr codes testing purposes...

Also, I'm planning to install a new rom in a bigger sd card (thinking in 8gb)
If I do this, when formatting and recovering the partitions on sd card, I can increase the size for the "internal memory"? The default for the "internal memory" is only about 450mb - that isn't enough to install much programs without using an external sd - so I can increase the partition size of her, or can I install the apps in other location on the internal sd?

I tested both froyo and gingerbread rom using the same instruction in modifying the uboot.bin. there is now a way to use your camera again. No need to be afraid.

But you can still use Tileg's utscript if you dont want to update your original coby uboot.

Thanks I'll giving prior to Gingerbread ROM anyway... relief to know that the camera is able to recovery now. So, anyone can see my doubt in my last post up there? *I have edited it to add the question*
tks

not a good idea to increase the internal memory as doing so will fully brick ur tablet, i tried changing it to 550mb instead of 450mb an now my tablet is fully bricked :(

the safest thing to do is put a larger microSD inside like i did, i had a 16gb instead of the stock 4gb.

as for further projects i cant work on right now because i have nothing to test with but when i get another tablet there is a honeycomb rom i was working on that i need to finish and share. peace for now and wish me luck getting another tab

Excuse my ignorance on the subject. I am very excited reading about the custom roms you have achieved. I would try one in my kyros 7024, but I have no idea how. Someone would have the patience to explain to a novice how to install a rom on his tablet.?Thank you very much in advance and congratulations for your achievements

DAAAAAMN D:
So, this means that we're stuck to use only 450mb internal to install the apps? or we can install them on another part of internal memory? But if we put a bigger sd inside kyros, the internal memory for apps increase as well, or we're stuck to use the 450mb for apps? Too bad... anyway, good luck

For that you would have to download the custom rom of ur choice, extract the contents inside the zip or rar file to ur external SD card, fully power off ur tablet, then power on holding home + power key.

hopefully i can find a way to come back from a full brick... would be good for all of us to know.

how about using the old 4gb sd card of your tablet?

Right, I just tested the two lastest roms posted till now (flxrms' Froyo and Wicced247's Gingerbread) and will state now mine impressions, dunno if this will apply por everyone (pretty sure that it will).

The Froyo rom is good and all with everything* working - except for the 4 buttons (back, browser, search and menu) - they stay lit all time.

The Gingerbread rom is actually very good, with a very considerable gain in performance, in speed and in screen sensibility... the screen is actually so sensitive that I think will have to calibrate it (LCD density changer or similar)!
And for the lost of physical volume buttons we have the choice to control the volume by the main configs menu or another app's in-menu options...
Even without the camera, this one was my choice.

*Considering I didn't had time to do a proper complete testing - didn't test the wifi, 3g, hdmi nor the battery usage - for both roms*

Just want to know now if it is possible to install apps in the free space (2gb) on the internal sd card (since the internal memory of the tablet just give us 450mb to install and it can't be increased - risking brick the tablet). I didn't like installing apps on external sd since many of them lost performance doing this...

...sigh... I'd like to know this programming issues to help fixing the buttons, camera etc...

Hmm that's weird in my tablet 7024 i don't have a problem with the soft button which im currently using now. What i set with the c8lean v0.4 i shared is almost same.

I created another one but now base on c8lean v0.51 the link @ the 7024 all u need to know thread.

Hi, i tried wicced gingerbread rom on my 8024 an now i have my screen completely white. Curiosly it works, the buttons respond, i hear a click in the speaker when this power on, the same when the screen looked good. My cuestion is, someone tried a custom rom of this forum in an 8024 (not 7024) which works ok?. Thank you very much

I tried Wicced gingerbread rom too, on my 7024 and everything is perfect except:

* Vol buttons but I don't care
* Camera but I don't care
* Screen Calibration :S Any solutions ?
