Of course my friend. :)
U take this kernel and U just drop it in the card U have made for flashing the rom.We dont care for other files that are inside.U gonna flash anyway only the kernel.
Shut down your NC, put inside the flash card and boot. When U r inside CWM just select flash from zip, select the OC zip and after install U r done.
Unmount this card, put your normal card inside and reboot. Then from inside Android, go to Perfomance settings and just select the speed U need (for example 1.100mhz).

Are you setting the speed with SetCPU or the native OC in the CM menu?

That is an older version of the OC kernel... the link you want is this one (here) This links to the top level of all his kernels. Make sure you try using the latest dated version of the kernel and only go older if you have a specific problem. But there have been many good updates lately.

Make sure you grab the proper kernel (Eclair is one version and Froyo/CM7-Gingerbread is another) and that you use the eMMC is your rom is running from it or the SD if you are using a bootable SD-ROM.

Also, with anything Gingerbread (CM7, UD, Phire) please do NOT use SetCPU. The profiles max the cpu and just having it running seems to affect battery significantly. Use the built in controls for now and with the newer kernels use the "interactive" governor. <-- as recommended by dalingrin

Just double checking--any reason why I shouldn't update Phiremod v5.0 with CM7 nightlies (i.e., just flash new CM7 bases over the Phiremod 5.0 CM7 base)? Working from Phiremod 5.0, I kept many of the extras, but deleted others, and now have everything to my liking. So I'm now thinking that until there's a major update to Phiremod, I'd like to be able to just update the CM7 base without messing with the extras. Any reason I shouldn't do this? The Phiremod ROM doesn't include any alterations to CM7 itself that I would lose by updating the CM7 base, does it? I believe this to be the case, but just wanted to double check.

Originally when I went to Phiremod 5.0, flash wouldn't work. I mucked around with several things, but either got a message that the video couldn't be played or that I needed to install Flash Player (even though it was already installed).

What I did to get it going was this: I went into Manage Applications to clear the data and cache for my existing Adobe Flash Player. I then uninstalled Flash Player and rebooted. Next I went to the market and installed the latest version of Flash Player, then rebooted again. Flash worked perfectly at that point.

Something interesting about the overclocking on this ROM.. Earlier today, I was running just the ROM and whatever kernel it comes with the make 925mhz possible. Then I saw the post about using the one from 3/16 that makes 1.1ghz possible. I ran Quadrant using 925mhz and I got a 1440, but when I ran it on the 1.1 (which was forced to be 1.1 by being 1.1 max/1.1 min), I got something in the 1100's consistently.. I'm thinking the "better" kernel isn't all that.. Thoughts?

I am thinking to buy a Chinese BT keyboard .is there any chance that it might not connect with NC'S Bluetooth ?

I had this after one of my CM7 updates, go into Manage Apps, and Market and clear cache and data. That should fix it up.
thanks for the assistance...but it didn't work out, as all the clear data, clear cache buttons were disabled for the Market...what I did was:

I logged in through Gmail. from there it took me to that market auto-retrieval app (forgot the name, but it's the one that runs only one time, etc etc)... after that all was good...except this rom runs a bit slower/less smooth than the HC V4 rom... overall, I feel better running the HC V4...but anyway, Thanks again for the help, and I did eventually get it running :)

It is known at this point that Quadrant does not play nice with CM7, but not sure why. Every other test (linpack, general observation, and some personal stopwatch type tests) show that the OC kernel is still faster than stock. So don't put too much weight into Quadrant scores.

indeed it does...but it is very choppy...

Known issue, and seems to be related to the audio side strangely and will be looked into in about a week. Dalingrin is off to German for awhile for business and won't get to look at much until he gets back. :( But the great news is we seem to be narrowing down where the problem lies. If you have BT working and have a BT headset or can pump the audio via BT to your pc, the videos play smooth as butter. They are only choppy when having to output the video and audio through the NC.

I've found it to be much better in the browser than in the Youtube app..

I have also found that the Tube XL app plays YouTube much better than the regular app as well.

Upgraded to 5.1. Everything ok sort of. Now have youtube audio. Then, video will show up after a few minutes and everything slows down and is choppy. Any suggestions? I did uninstall Flash 10.1 before flashing. Then, flashed 5.1, went to market and downloaded flash 10.2 and youtube. In a browser, Flash does work well. But Youtube still is an issue. Thanks

I wouldn't recommand flashing to the kernel that can overclock to 1100, At 1100 my youtube woudln't work, but when i changed it to 1000 it would start playing. But i find that the original kernel that came with phiremod v5.1 played the smoothes for youtube video's.
