If the C8lean_v0.41_v2 is still a Froyo ROM, which are her advantages over the original coby ROM?
Also, this ROM is running perfect, without any issues with screen rotation, buttons, wi-fi, camera etc?

tks

On the first page of C8lean post ( different forum ), the firmware changer goes into why he started his project. That is the best read. Period. My take is: lean means removing un-necessary stuff, lean means it will then runs faster, lean means less things to go wrong - ergo less trouble. On one of my tabs ( haipad ), i use fonix232's PhoenixMod rom...

Got Gingerbread up an running on my mid7024 after all night moddin a C8lean rom and help from a few forms i have been reading. Only thing I can't figure is the volume key and camera but everything else is perfect even the rotation works the way it should. Haven't found any apps force closing or anything and i will put my custom compiled rom up after a few more testing. props to whoever started C8lean i love his/her work

Aight games and everything I had in origonal Coby rom works like it should, web-pages and video-streaming is fast, animated wallpapers don't seem to use much cpu, don't seem to have problems putting a larger microSD (I'm using 16gb), battery last longer haven't even used JuiceDefender yet, fully rooted, screen shows brighter to me, android market updates, gmail connects in stock email. I'm using AWD launcer EX with no issue and Audio Manager for now because no sound buttons working.

Up your rom to some fileshare, I really want to test it.
Do you have some honeycomb rom? I didnt see any out there, Im willing to test any rom.

Hey people, did you find something about the white screen in 8024? ;x

Mine is with white screen and I don't know how to fix it. ;x

me to, if you up it, would be glad to test it

Another update: i changed my browser button ( B ) to Dolphin Browser HD, i find that browser is best. You can download then change the shortcut by going into settings/application/quick launch.

-Froyo 2.2
-Now using normal UTSCRIPT
-Logo.bmp using Original COBY logo
-U-boot.bin edited to use HI704 so camera will work
-3G setting on by default
-Set manufacture name to Coby Kyros
-Set model to MID7024
-Softkeys work
-Home button works as home
-Phone/Telephony apps remove
-Modify same sa c8lean rom to be leaner.
-Host file to filter ads
-Rootable
-Market
-Added UTModules for Coby Kyros 7024 only (i dont know if 8024 and 1024 uses additional/different drivers)
-Added files for softkeys

This Custom firmware will update your u-boot.bin and logo. Logo was pulled from my Kyros tablet and the U-Boot.Bin was hex edit to replace GCC308 to HI704 camera string.

Basically everything works for me.. Camera, 3G USB Modem, Volume hardware buttons, Home Button, Power button, HDMI. Sleep funtion also works ok 24hrs+ when tablet is put to sleep. Can wake up by pressing Silver button or the Power Button.

This is as close as to the original Coby Kyros Firmware as i can make so far.

*As usual this works for my tablet but i hold no responsibility if it bricks your. My tablet's board have 7025 marking.

Actually i have a modified C8lean v1.1 with Camera working with a coby logo too :). The trick is to edit the following files

set_bootargs, u-boot.bin, u-boot.arg, u-boot-sd.bin, INand_mm_sd_mbr.vhd

open them using a HEX Editor and search for CAMERA=GCC308, replace GCC308 to HI704 then SAVE.

..

If only i have an updated driver for the volume hardware button i will surely use it permanently...
