Kinpad I600 7" Capacitive, Phone 3G GPS Wifi HDMI 2.2

tobyw01, everybody plays the movie on tablet and connect it to LCD/LED TV via HDMI out or TV out? Why dont you do so?

Well,

I have an Xbox 360, a WII, a Media center PC, a BluRay player that streams Netflix and VuDu, it also plays DIVX from USB, my TV plays DIVX from USB it also streams from Netflix and VuDu, I have a file server in my basement with 2TB of movies. Why would I worry about connecting my phone to the TV? Don't get me wrong I love this tablet and I do take movies with me on the road, but there are so many capable devices that can do the same when I'm at home and I don't have to worry about it being the correct format of video and audio. Like I said, its a nice feature but something I don't find to be useful, kind of like the projector that can get attached to a cell phone, nice but how often will it really get used. I would have liked a IR blaster instead of HDMI so I could use it as a universal remote or maybe stream wirelessly to the TV!

Well guys...................just as I thought no HDMI cable.
Hey, When I ordered mine it said I get earphones with it and I didn't get those either. Let us know what you think of it after a couple days. Don't forget to do any updates first, because it will wipe everything.

Have fun.:D

And the GPS.....?

Yeah.......Im not to worried about the Gps. I STILL dont have the sims card from Att ..But I can say that there is alot of functionallity wraped up in this device. I am quite impressed with the quality, its very nice.

If anyone wants to know....the unit had v10 firmware on it fresh from the factory. I did the update last night to v13

Finally up and running on AT&T . 3G is up.

I would like to say that merimobiles has a great website..extremely fast shipment via DHL & customer service is A+........Other than having to wait "which is not merimobiles fault" I am very pleased and am going to buy from them again. Thanks Phillip.

I went ahead and bought a cheap case & screen cover from flebay.....I don't really know how well this case will fit or hold up to stress but hell for 10 bucks I cant expect a whole lot. Ill be using this until I can find something better. I hate carrying this kinpad around naked. Anyway here's a pic for others who may want to go this route.

I got this M-edge case for the Nook and it fit my Kinpad well. The little light was extra though.

How well do the four straps hold the unit in? I looked at some that have the straps, but I went with the slide in buckle type with kickstand.

Two things that bother me a bit are the first is when I plug in the power and let the i600 charge it shuts itself off causing me to miss text messages and emails. The other issue is when making a call the screen turns off to save power so I then have to push the power button to wake up the screen then I have to use the unlock slider to hang up or to make another call. Anyone have ideas on this? The only way to stop the phone from going in to power saving is to dial your call and when it connects press the dial pad button.

I think the Kinpad is 1/4 inch or less taller than the Nook. The straps hold it down very well. I've had it tossed around in a rucksack a few times and it has never fell out of the cover. It's good leather and looks professional. Got it for $39 at Best Buy. I actually brought it in and test fitted a couple cases before I decided on that one. There was some others that flip from the top that I was considering as well.

I have not seen my unit shut off when charging, is the battery completley drained when trying to charge? Shouldn't completely drain LION batteries. The screen cutting off when making calls, I have the same problem with my Hero CM6 ROM. I think it may be a setting somewhere you can stop it from doing that I'll try to research it.
