Trying to Identify Kernel, Possible Overclocking Possibilities for DM7022 Radio

Hi Guys, an idea to have in your car such device containing two separate parts is very interesting for me and also I just love android... so a question - if you are driving and use some navi application like iGO or other one which can speak you directions, can you in the same time listen to the radio or receive a call from mobile phone connected to the main part via blue-tooth? will you be able to hear navi directions when you on call?

To answer your questions - yes, you can have the radio or cd player on while navigating. The navigation guidance voice will interrupt the other source and it will return after the instructions are done. It's not seamless, there is a small gap, maybe a quarter to a half second before the original audio returns. But it's very much usable anyways.
Same with the bluetooth, if you are listening to the cd or even have the android on as the source, the bluetooth phone call will interrupt that and the original source will return after the call.
I don't know if the navigation instructions come over the bluetooth call however.

Hmmm...interesting. This is replacing a pioneer unit so I am hoping for some speed bump. The android part is just gravy and I dont really intend to remove the unit. Is there a USB reader that the pad can access on the head unit? Also, is there a way to mount this flush and if not, is there one with android but it isn't removable?

The main unit and the android pad have their own usb ports and they cannot access each others port. I think you could mount it at least almost flush, depending on the surrounding frame. The pad mount by first inserting the bottom on the connectors and then pushing it in at the top. You need at least a little room on the upper part where the disconnecting button is in order to remove it. Of course if you would never remove the pad from the main unit I don't see any reason why you couldn't mount it totally flush, there are no buttons or such on the sides of the unit.

Hi kruuth,
If you want an Android tablet in your car, but you don´t want to change the pioneer unit, if the pioneer unit has an auxiliar audio input you could conect the tablet audio to that unit using a jack cable. Doing this you could use any tablet. If I were you I will buy a tablet whit at least bluetooth to conect a gps.

Any update on this ?

Hi Blankers,

I'm also very interested in this !

Did you install TDI-Votex's upgraded framwork.jar file ? If you did, would you recommend it to others & was it difficult to do ?
I have downloaded the file, but am afraid about installing it & deleting the old version as I have very little android knowledge !

No the whole idea is using the unit without having to do more work. What about a bluetooth call? Can I use the navigation while I use the bluetooth?

Hi Guys, i have just broken my dm7033 tablet and i need your help. I have broken digitizer glass, but lcd screen and plastic cover are OK. If i open the tablet, the front panel of the tablet is a sandwich, containing INNOLUX AT070TN90 LCD screen, glass digitizer and plastic cover with the black border (you actually see this plastic cover on the top of digitizer looking at the face of dm7033 PAD). I am not sure if it is possible to separate the parts and replace only one of them.

Is it possible to separate lcd, digitizer and plastic cover and simply replace only the digitizer part which costs $15-20 or i have to order complete spare front panel from the manufacturer of dm7033 or even complete new dm7033 tablet?

I answer my post ;)

Guys, i recommend you to be very careful with the tablet. It is quite heavy and fragile.
I have paid $60 for the new glass and repair and it took 3 hours to replace broken digitizer glass.

Hi Kruuth,

I have the older version (es666) & yes you can use the bluetooth while using the sat nav, The other day I was streaming internet radio via bluetooth while using co pilot sat nav software, I received a call from a customer, the music stopped a ringing tone came through the sound system & the sat nav continued in the background, when the call was over the music resumed & was only interupted by the sat nav giving directions.

Hi dyn620,

Sorry to hear of your problems, please let us know how you managed to get spare parts & where from, how you dismantled the unit etc , this thread is the only reference source of info for this tablet so no doubt the info will be of use to others in the future .

Glad you managed to get it sorted.

Hi all. Who can lay DUMPROM firmware for DM7033. If someone can not put something like this to accomplish your goal. Please lay out the firmware. And then I lost the folder nand and many many mistakes. Waiting for an answer.

Hi Mark, it is very easy to disassemble the tablet. Only 4 screws and it is open. After that battery is easy to replace as well as the screen assy.
As i already said, screen consists of lcd display, digitizer glass and cover plastic. Each one is glued to the neighbors.

LCD display is a standard one. Not difficult to find.

Digitizer glass - find the one with the correct dimensions. They all are more/less the same. But wiring is always different, some soldering is always required. That is what i heard from the technician.

Cover film - it is a part of the 7033 case and it has unique design. You have to peel it off the broken digitizer and glue to the new glass after the repair. After the repair display will be 0,5mm thicker because all surface of the cover film is glued to the plastic cover of the digitizer glass and it is not possible to separate them.

Easiest and best way in my opinion is a total replacement of the display assy. But it requires original and genuine spare part from the tablet manufacturer.
