Trying to Identify Kernel, Possible Overclocking Possibilities for DM7022 Radio

Well I couldn't get that to work, downloaded Simple NMea app and it doesn't show anything. Other than gps status, IGO and maps no other app installed... could the root be messing it up, how could a do a full restore, cause when i did the reset it still had root and super user installed.

Hi Flytyme69,

Both of mine (dm7022 &dm7033) are rooted without any gps problems, but anything is possible. There are backup files on this thread but I'm afraid I dont know how to apply them, I'm sure one of the other guys will be able to advise you.

Good luck.

Hi Guys,

Today my replacement screen assembly arrived, or so I thought ! a well packed package but all I received was the lcd screen, no digitizer & no plastic front film ! I had been very clear describing what I needed & they appeared to understand, so I'm hoping that it was just a honest mistake. Its a bit frustrating but these things happen when different languages are involved, I've emailed the supplier & await their reply.
I was wondering how Ellolo & Flytyme69 were getting on with their problems, hopefully they have got nearer a solution.

Hi Guys,

After a few emails back & forth the Chinese supplier has agreed to send me the missing parts so hopefully all will be well !
The lesson I learned here is to leave nothing to chance & if possible send pictures of required parts etc to help explain what is required & to give the supplier a fair chance of getting it right first time. I have to say that my dealings with various Chinese suppliers has been mainly good, friendly & with a sense of a willingness to help & provide proper service (something that we in the west dont often get from local suppliiers !), earlier failed attempts may have been due to the new year celebrations.
When the package arrives I will post a update.

Hope you other guys are getting your issues sorted.

Hi Mark! Who was a supplier? I also need spare screen assy but not sure where to buy from.

Hi Dyn620,

I had wanted & requested the whole screen assembly (lcd/digitizer/plastic film cover) because I have minimal skills for assembly, unfortunatly I received only the lcd, they have promised to send the remaining parts & I'll try to assemble the 3 parts into 1 unit ready for fitting. My advice to you is email them photos with your request for parts.
The company is erising & the ladies name is Christine, her email address is [email protected]
I will let you know what I receive when I receive my other parts.

Hi All, I'm thinking about buying this unit as soon as they release out VW adapted one (they promised to release it next month) and I'm still worrying about which TV tuner I should order because since this year my country has decided to use the latest digital standard DVB-T2. I asked the provider on the Erisin site to confirm that the unit supports the new TV standard and they confirmed this although in the technical details on their web site I haven't found any mentioning about it (only about DVB-T)
So, as far as I know many European countries already use the new DVB-T2 standard may I ask you to confirm that the unit actually can receive TV signal in DVB-T2? Has anybody already used this?

Another one good news :) we now has a firmware for main unit with DBV-T. And we know how to change interface of main unit. TV, Radio, etc.

main unit FW - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40328912/CARPAD/update_dvd.zip

link to russian forum - 4pda

Hi MurzzZ, can you help to get the firmware for the analog head? Wanna try to change the logo.
I see a lot of goodies at http://4pda.ru but too bad can't register an account to grab all the custom firmware.

Hi Duken,

Welcome to the thread, DVB-T2 is used in the UK for HD broadcasts & it is used in Italy & some Scandinavian countries, worldwide its quite rare & many suppliers confuse DVB-T2 & DVB-T MPEG4. as they are both capable of HD broadcasts.
My advice to you is unless you see DVB-T2 in the specs, assume that the product is not DVB-T2 even if it says HD !
Ebay is full of HD DVB-T kit that is advertised as HD but is no good for HD terrestrial broadcasts in the UK because it is not DVB-T2 compatable.

Be carefull who you ask that are selling the unit because at least one supplier told customers that the pad had bluetooth & GPS built in, & then after the customers bought the first model of the carpad unit & complained it wasnt working had to admit the bluetooth & GPS are only in the main unit.
I dont think they were trying to con anyone, either they were to lazy to find out or something got lost in translation.

Thank you Mark for your good advice, I think the same... actually I twice bothered the provider with the same question and both times they confirmed that the unit supports DVB-T2... :) I think a person who is responsible for selling is not fully aware in technical details.
Well, it seems that I won't be able to enjoy with HD television and will have to order one with analog tuner... :(
Another question to who has this unit - how about multi-touch capability, just I heard that it is not good for now, as example is it possible to turn or resize map in the Google maps using two fingers?

Hi Duken,

You might be able to fit a external DVB-T2 receiver, like this one & connect it via aux in.

The latest products DVB-T2 terrestrial digital television receiver,DVB-T2-9002 | eBay

I have sent the seller a message to ask if this unit comes with a external remote sensor, if it does you could hide this unit inside the dashboard & place the remote sensor somewhere that you can access it.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the thread,

I believe most people bought from erisin.com either direct or via ebay, others have bought from the manufacturer again either direct from winmark or from them via ali express.
It might be best if you pm another Canadian contributor to this thread as they would have experiance of delivery times etc. Have a scroll through this thread to see who has bought this unit & lives in Canada then send them a pm to see how they got on with their vendor.

Good luck,

Mark
