Kinpad I600 7" Capacitive, Phone 3G GPS Wifi HDMI 2.2

but this will almost certainly be my last experience of trying to deal with a chinese outfit.

I agree this will definitely be the last time I go through the process of buying anything directly from a Chinese supplier. I'll quit while I'm ahead. I'll pay more and buy local. I'm not sure how these Chinese manufactures will compete. I just read about a 7" Acer tablet with Tegra 2 and HC. This is to sell for about $450.00. $50.00 dollars more than the Kinpad.

If you hate the unlock screen and you dont like the fact that you have to push the power button every time the unit goes into standby I hate when Im using the phone and it goes to sleep, then you must try widget locker awsome little app allows you to customize the lock screen with different slider buttons. now I push the home button to wake instead of the power button. I also have call slider, email slider ,messaging slider with time, weather, screen saver, batt meter all on the unlock screen. It also has a third party plug in that adds missed number of calls, email and messages, so you dont have to go through a huge process just to check your messages.;)

Do those apps take a lot of processing in the background ? Do they drain the battery faster? I use ADW EX Launcher, I'm pleased with it but the default is noticeably faster.

Yeah........it does drain the battery faster, not by much. I have alot of apps running, but Im using home and car chargers so my battery stays at a good level all the time. Im also using advanced task killer manually at startup.

I managed to get Kinpad updated to 2.5. My internet has been down and still is for about two weeks, welcome home gift from Comcast. I have my whole house tethered on my Sprint phone. Thank you for $79 unlimited access. With this update my Bluetooth is not working. I tried to connect to a headset and phone with no luck. Has anyone seen this?

I easily paired my bluetooth headset and I love it. Its the only way Ill make calls from the kinpad.

One problem Ive run into is none of the 5v 2.0 - 2.1 amp usb car chargers I purchased work for the kinpad. I have tried two of them one was a belkin 5v 2.1amp $22.00 the other a generic 5v 2.0 amps $5.00 Can someone recommend a car charger that will actually work? These are both 12/24 volts input. 2.0 or 2.1 amps .The cable is the original kinpad cable. I dont get it......the only difference it seems is the 12/24volt dc input.

My Bluetooth is not working at all I re-flashed and even went back to v2.0 and still doesn't work. That combined with storage corruption is going to make try and return it. I could not boot it up properly several times.

Keeping my fingers crossed trying to get it fixed.

A while back I had bought my girlfriend a IPhone charger from a local dollar store (though it cost $2.00). This was the type of adapter that had the 30 pins adapter attached to the plug so it would fit directly into the kinpad without the need for adapters. I did a quick check and it did seem to work. I didn't leave it on long enough but it did trigger the animated battery charging icon which i think means that recharging is happening. I'd give you the spec's but this was so cheap that it came with no documentation or labels on the actual adapter.

Hi there!

My new replacement tablet has been shipped today :)
I'll let you know guys!

It just so happens there is a dollar store right down the street Im going to see if they have one.

I found something very interesting. You can try this if your router supports this feature. If you enable Filter WAN NAT Redirection the kinpad will be unable to obtain a local ipv4 address. Once you turn the filter off the kinpad will then obtain an address as normal................weird......:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: This filter doesn't affect windows wireless obtained ipv4 addresses. Seems to only affect android.

Any thoughts by someone who understands Filter WAN NAT Redirection on networks would be interesting and much appreciated.
